Nearly 40,000 acres of unprotected priority natural resources lands are under intense pressure, yet they are essential for clean water, open space, coastal resilience, and critical habitats. These lands are also threatened by the impacts of climate change – rising sea levels, intensifying storms, raging heat waves, and longer droughts. At the same time they provide a way to sequester carbon in the plants and soil that helps us hold back the threat. There’s still time to protect what remains and what we love about Cape Cod because it’s more than a destination, it’s part of who we are. The Association to Preserve Cape Cod is leading a campaign to mobilize Cape residents to fight for permanent preservation of these critical open spaces.
